OHIO — A woman was hospitalized early Friday morning following a single-vehicle crash in Maumee, according to police.
Officers said the crash happened shortly after 1 a.m. when the driver, traveling east on the Anthony Wayne Trail, struck a guardrail at the entrance ramp to I-475 north. The impact caused the vehicle to travel down a hill, ejecting the woman through the sunroof.
Police said the driver was found lying in the grass and was conscious when emergency crews arrived. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Ohio Department of Transportation responded to repair the damaged guardrail. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
