
INDIANA — A driver was arrested after a passenger was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash on Christmas Day in Noblesville, according to police.
Noblesville Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash around 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, on Interstate 69near the 213-mile marker.
During the investigation, officers determined that a 2009 Chevy Silverado pickup truck was traveling southbound when it veered from the far left lane to the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail, causing the vehicle to roll over. Police said no other vehicles were involved.
The driver, a 21-year-old man from Anderson, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the truck, a 36-year-old woman from Anderson, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Southbound lanes of I-69 were closed during the investigation and reopened around 8 p.m.
Following the investigation, officers arrested the driver and transported him to the Hamilton County Jail. He faces preliminary charges of operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent of .08% or more, operating without a valid license, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision.
