
ALABAMA — One person was taken to the hospital following a crash early Monday morning on Highway 231 in Dale County, according to authorities.
Officials said the accident happened near Mance Newton Road in Midland City and involved a passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle.
Investigators said the passenger car flipped during the crash, trapping the driver inside. First responders worked to free the driver from the vehicle.
The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, according to Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum.
The crash impacted both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 231, prompting officials to close two lanes while crews worked to clear the scene. Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes.
Multiple agencies responded to the crash, including Midland City Police, Midland City Fire, the Dale County Sheriff’s Office, Dothan Fire Department and Echo Rescue.
It is unclear what caused the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
