OHIO — The Fostoria Police Department is investigating a stabbing that left one person seriously injured late Friday afternoon.
According to a press release, officers responded to a disturbance just before 5 p.m. in the 200 block of Independence Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a person suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck and hands.
A man holding a knife was seen standing nearby.
Officers detained him and immediately provided aid to the victim. Fostoria Fire/EMS transported the wounded individual to a local hospital, and the victim was later airlifted to another facility due to the severity of the injuries. The victim’s current condition is unknown.
The suspect was arrested and charged with felonious assault. He is being held in the Hancock County Jail without bail. Police said additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
