
NORTH CAROLINA — One person was hospitalized and another arrested following a stabbing early Tuesday morning in Asheville.
According to the Asheville Police Department, officers responded to a residence on Atkinson Street shortly after 3 a.m. and found a man suffering from a serious knife wound to the arm. The victim was taken to Mission Hospital for treatment.
Investigators said the stabbing happened after a disagreement. The suspect, identified as 59-year-old Harold Dudley Ervin, was located on the front porch of a nearby residence and taken into custody without incident.
Ervin has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, going armed to the terror of people, and second-degree trespass. He is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility without bond, as determined under the Pretrial Integrity Act.
