
SOUTH CAROLINA — Authorities are investigating an overnight shooting along Interstate 26 in North Charleston, according to the North Charleston Police Department.
Police said officers were patrolling around 3:15 a.m. Monday when they heard multiple gunshots in the area of Interstate 26 and Interstate 526.
Officers spread out and canvassed nearby communities and business districts in the area.
Shortly after, a gunshot victim arrived at a nearby medical facility. The victim told officers he had been shot while on I-26.
Authorities said investigators later located and collected evidence of the shooting along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 26 just before West Montague Avenue.
No arrests have been made, and officials have not released additional information about a suspect.
The investigation remains ongoing.
