One person injured following shooting incident near Ohio college

OHIO — One person was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in the University District, according to a Columbus public safety dispatcher.

Police were called to the intersection of East 12th Avenue and North Pearl Street, just east of North High Street, around 2:00 a.m. following reports of gunfire.

The victim later walked into The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.

Details about a possible suspect or the circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
