One person injured following shooting incident in Virginia

VIRGINIA — A teenage boy was hospitalized Friday evening after being shot in Henrico County’s Highland Springs area, marking the third shooting in the county within a 24-hour span.

Henrico County Police said officers were called to the 100 block of Shawn Court at 7:21 p.m. on July 25 for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, they found a teenage male outside with a gunshot wound to the back. The injury was determined to be non-life-threatening.

The teen was transported to a local hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition as of Saturday morning.

Police have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The investigation remains active.

This incident follows a double shooting on Thursday evening, July 24, in which two other individuals were injured in Henrico County.
