
TEXAS — A man was injured in an early morning shooting near downtown San Antonio, and investigators are still working to determine what led up to the incident.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers responded around 1:50 a.m. Thursday to the area of El Paso Street and South Comal Street on the city’s west side.
Police said a man, believed to be between 19 and 30 years old, was found with a gunshot wound to the arm. He was transported to University Hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
Investigators said the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. Authorities noted that the victim’s account of what happened has changed multiple times, with initial claims ranging from a possible drive-by shooting involving a vehicle to an incident involving individuals on bicycles.
Officers said they were unable to locate a confirmed crime scene in the area.
The San Antonio Fire Department and EMS also responded to the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
