SOUTH CAROLINA — An adult man was injured in a shooting Sunday night that investigators said stemmed from a family dispute, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to a residence on Berry N Serena Lane near Coffee Road around 10:17 p.m. for a report of a possible shooting. When deputies arrived, they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound to his ear.
Investigators said the incident began when a man came to the home and became involved in a physical altercation with the property owner. During the dispute, a third person attempted to break up the fight by producing a firearm and firing a single shot, which struck the man in the ear.
The victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
The shooting remains under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
