OHIO — A woman was shot early Wednesday morning near the intersection of Stark and Dunlap streets in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, according to the Cincinnati Police Department.
The shooting occurred shortly before 2 a.m. near Hanna Park.
Police said the victim, who suffered gunshot wounds to her neck and leg, ran two blocks to a nearby late-night pizza shop to seek help and called 911 from there.
She was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police confirmed.
Officers taped off the crime scene at Hanna Park and were seen canvassing the area and speaking with neighbors along Elm Street near the restaurant where the woman sought safety.
This is the second shooting near Hanna Park this month. In early July, gunfire erupted during a gathering at the park, injuring two men. No arrests have been reported in connection with that incident.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding Wednesday’s shooting and have not released a suspect description at this time.
