KENTUCKY — Police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured Friday night in Newport.
According to the Newport Police Department, the shooting was reported at 10:23 p.m. at the intersection of 10th Street and Putnam Street.
Officers said the male victim suffered injuries to his legs and was transported to a local hospital. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
Police said the victim had been walking with another person at the time of the shooting. Neither was able to identify the shooter.
No arrests have been made, but investigators believe the incident was isolated and that there is no threat to the public.
