One person injured following shooting incident in Indiana

INDIANA — Police are investigating a shooting that left a 16-year-old boy critically injured late Monday night on Indianapolis’ northeast side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called just before 11:20 p.m. to a home in the 3900 block of East 30th Street, near Sherman Drive, after reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found the teenage victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Police said they do not yet know what led to the shooting. An IMPD spokesperson confirmed that an adult suspect is believed to be involved, but no arrests have been made at this time.

The incident remains under investigation. Police have not released additional details.
