GEORGIA — A 12-year-old boy was injured in a shooting early Monday morning in Albany, according to the Albany Police Department.
Police said they were called at 1:16 a.m. on Aug. 25 to the 900 block of Friendship Drive. When an officer arrived, he followed a trail of blood from the front door of an apartment to a back bedroom, where he found the victim with a gunshot wound to his left leg. According to police, the victim told officers he had been sitting alone on the front porch when a man in a ski mask approached and began shooting. The suspect fled toward Willow Wood Drive.
Officials said at least three other people were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting. They reported hearing gunfire but told investigators they did not know what happened.
