GEORGIA — A 47-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the head Monday morning, according to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said emergency services were called to a home in the 100 block of Chipley Mountville Road around 7:50 a.m. after 911 received a report of an unresponsive man bleeding from the head. First responders requested sheriff’s office assistance after finding signs of a possible crime.
The victim was taken to Well Star West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, where medical staff determined he had a gunshot wound to the head.
Authorities said there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community.
