
GEORGIA — A man was hospitalized after being shot in the chest early Saturday morning near Ann Street and West Bay Street, according to the Savannah Police Department.
Officers responded to the area around 12:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
Police said officers provided first aid at the scene before the victim was transported to a hospital for additional treatment. His condition has not been publicly released.
Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting, and no suspects or arrests were immediately reported.
