
GEORGIA — DeKalb County Police Department said Saturday night that one person was found shot at The Mall at Stonecrest.
Police said officers were called to the mall around 12:40 p.m. regarding a possible shooting. When officers arrived, they located a person who had been shot in the hand. Authorities said the injury was non-fatal and the victim is in stable condition. The individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police did not release the person’s identity.
Investigators said several individuals fled the scene but were later detained. It was not immediately clear whether charges would be filed.
The mall remained closed Saturday and is expected to reopen Sunday, police said. Authorities stated there is no ongoing danger to the community but asked the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues. Officers were still on scene as of 6:30 p.m.
