FLORIDA — A 22-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday after being shot in Florida City, according to authorities.
Police said officers responded to the area of the 1400 block near Second Avenue, where they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the arm and leg.
The man was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center for treatment. Officials said he is expected to survive.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
Detectives are actively searching for the suspect, who fled the scene following the shooting. No description of the shooter has been provided.
The investigation remains ongoing.
