FLORIDA — Officials with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting that left a man injured Thursday night in Shalimar.
According to a post from the sheriff’s office, the shooting occurred outside the victim’s home on Oak Lane. The man was shot multiple times and was transported to a hospital, where he was last reported to be in stable condition.
Investigators said they used the Flock Safety camera system to track a suspect’s vehicle to an area near Villa Russ Park. Deputies later learned the vehicle had been reported stolen prior to the shooting.
Authorities also said that earlier in the evening, deputies responded to a separate report of shots fired on Shirley Drive near Fort Walton Beach. When deputies arrived at that location, they found two vehicles that had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported in that earlier incident.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information related to either incident to call 850-651-7400 or contact Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers. Officials said tips can be submitted anonymously, and information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
The Fort Walton Beach Police Department assisted in the investigation. The case remains under investigation.
