ARIZONA — A man was critically injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in west Phoenix, police said.
Officers responded just after 3:15 a.m. to reports of gunfire near 40th Avenue and Whitton Avenue, south of Indian School Road. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. His identity has not yet been released.
Investigators remained at the scene Sunday morning working to determine what led up to the shooting. No suspect information has been made public.
