VIRGINIA — A person was injured early Thursday morning after gunfire erupted at a large roving party in Barboursville, prompting more than 100 attendees to flee as deputies arrived.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office said it received a report in the early hours of Nov. 27 about a large gathering on Toms Road where shots had been fired.
When deputies reached the location, they found crowds running from the scene and numerous spent shell casings from multiple calibers of firearms. Officials said it was clear a fight had taken place.
One individual was struck by gunfire and was taken to a local hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.
Deputies later learned the gathering was part of a roving party that moves between locations across several counties.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Captain Kevin Freid at the Greene County Sheriff’s Office at 434-566-2813.
