INDIANA — A man was left in critical condition after a shooting early Sunday morning on the city’s east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
IMPD said officers were called around 1 a.m. Sept. 7 to a BP gas station in the 5400 block of East 16th Street, near North Ritter and Emerson avenues, on a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found a man in the backseat of his car suffering from gunshot wounds to his legs. He was reported to be in critical condition.
Investigators said it is unclear what led up to the shooting. Police are also working to determine why the victim was in the backseat, whether someone drove him to the gas station, and who the potential suspects may be.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
