One person injured following shooting incident at Indiana gas station

INDIANA — One person is recovering after being shot Sunday evening at a BP gas station in Michigan City, authorities said.

Police reported the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of E. Michigan Boulevard, near the Michigan City Police Department.

The victim went to the police station seeking assistance and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Officials said a suspect was detained for questioning and confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The investigation remains ongoing.
