INDIANA — A juvenile driver was seriously injured in a rollover crash Thursday evening in Monroe County and was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital.
The crash occurred around 8:15 p.m. on August 7 in the 2200 block of West Popcorn Road, located north of Springville and about 15 miles south of downtown Bloomington.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a 2004 Hyundai left the roadway and rolled multiple times.
The juvenile driver was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. Emergency crews transported the driver by medical helicopter to a hospital in Indianapolis.
West Popcorn Road was closed for more than two hours while authorities conducted an on-scene investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
