One person injured following multi-vehicle crash on I-95 in Virginia

VIRGINIA — One person was taken to the hospital after a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 North in Chesterfield County Tuesday afternoon, according to the Virginia State Police.

Troopers said the crash occurred around 4:36 p.m. between West Hundred Road and Route 288.

Officials reported that as of shortly after 5 p.m., the center and right lanes of I-95 North were closed while crews worked to clear the scene. Traffic was able to get through using the left lane and the left shoulder, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Authorities said one person was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area as first responders continued their work.

The crash remains under investigation.
