One person injured following motorcycle crash in Ohio

OHIO — A Fairborn man was seriously injured Thursday night in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 235 and Dayton Yellow Springs Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers from the Xenia Post responded to the crash around 9:35 p.m.

Investigators said 50-year-old Jason Hunter was riding a motorcycle northbound on State Route 235 when a westbound sedan driven by 71-year-old Donald Amos, also of Fairborn, failed to stop at a red light and struck the motorcycle in the intersection.

The impact forced Hunter’s motorcycle into a pickup truck that had been stopped southbound on State Route 235, waiting to turn left onto Dayton Yellow Springs Road. The truck was driven by 30-year-old William Watson of Fairborn, who was not injured.

Hunter, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Amos and Watson were uninjured, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation.
