
NORTH CAROLINA — An aircraft made an emergency landing in Louisburg after experiencing problems while attempting to land, according to local officials.
The incident occurred at Triangle North Executive Airport, according to a statement posted by Franklin County Emergency Services on social media. Officials said the pilot encountered difficulties during the landing attempt and was able to walk away from the aircraft with only minor injuries.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, including the Bunn Rural Fire Department, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin County Emergency Management, and Franklin County EMS.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the incident to determine the cause of the emergency landing.
According to officials, the aircraft’s tail number is registered to McKnight Aviation LLC. Flight tracking data indicates the plane departed the airport, then circled back approximately seven minutes later before the flight ended in a field adjacent to a runway.
No other injuries were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
