One person injured following dirt bike crash in Ohio

OHIO — An 11-year-old boy was critically injured Wednesday afternoon when the dirt bike he was riding collided with a pickup truck, according to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred around 4:17 p.m. on July 30 in the 2700 block of Heritage Avenue NW. Deputies and emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the child suffering from life-threatening injuries.

He was initially transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital before being airlifted to Akron Children’s Hospital for further treatment, officials said.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Authorities have not released the names of those involved, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
