OHIO — A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Hancock County, and authorities are still searching for a driver who fled the scene.

The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on July 13 at the intersection of County Road 17 and Township Road 150 near Mt. Blanchard, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say the teen, from rural Arlington, was driving a 2003 CF Moto 400s all-terrain vehicle westbound on Township Road 150 when he failed to stop at a posted sign and entered the path of a southbound 2012 Chevrolet Impala.

The Impala struck the ATV, causing serious injuries to the young rider.

The teen was airlifted by Life Flight to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo for treatment.

The driver of the Impala, described as a 40-year-old man from Kenton, fled the scene on foot. His current location is unknown, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Responding agencies included Hanco EMS, the Delaware Township Fire Department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and R & A Towing.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
