
OHIO — Authorities in Ohio Township are investigating after an accidental firearm discharge injured a child on Saturday.
According to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and first responders were called to a residence in the 2800 block of State Route 132 at approximately 10:55 a.m. following a report of a shooting involving a child.
In an update released hours later, the sheriff’s office said the child remains in stable condition. Authorities have not released the child’s age or any additional identifying information.
Officials have also not provided details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting, including whether the child or another person discharged the firearm. The incident remains under investigation.
The sheriff’s office said it is continuing to investigate the matter in coordination with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office. In addition, Clermont County Children Protective Services was notified of the incident and responded to the hospital to conduct its own assessment.
