VIRGINIA — A man was injured Thursday evening after running off the road and crashing into a tree, authorities said.
The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office reported the single-vehicle crash occurred around 9:40 p.m. on Ashland Road near its intersection with Cauthorne Road.
Officials said the driver, the only occupant of the red sedan, became trapped in the vehicle. He was safely rescued by Hanover County Fire and EMS crews and taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Authorities said his injuries “do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.”
The sheriff’s office said the initial investigation indicates alcohol may have been a factor. The circumstances that led to the crash remain under investigation.
