INDIANA — A juvenile was airlifted to a hospital following a rollover crash Sunday afternoon in Starke County, according to authorities.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred just after 2:30 p.m. on U.S. 30 near 750 East in Grovertown.
Investigators said a 43-year-old woman from South Bend was driving east in a four-door passenger vehicle when she hit several potholes and lost control. The vehicle then left the roadway, rolled over and struck a NIPSCO utility pole.
Authorities said one juvenile was airlifted to Memorial Hospital of South Bend for treatment. Officials have not released the juvenile’s condition.
U.S. 30 was temporarily shut down to allow a helicopter to land safely at the scene.
Police said the Indiana Department of Transportation was contacted to inspect the roadway surface.
The crash remains under investigation.
