One person injured after tree falls on home in Ohio

OHIO — A juvenile was injured Sunday night when a large tree fell on a home on the city’s east side during severe storms, according to the Columbus Division of Fire.

Fire crews responded around 10:30 p.m. to a residence in the 1400 block of Noe Bixby Road after receiving reports of the tree collapse.

The tree, located in the backyard, crashed onto the house, trapping and injuring the juvenile.

Firefighters worked for an extended period to safely free the juvenile before transporting them to a local hospital. Their condition remains unknown.

Two other people were inside the home at the time.

One adult was taken to Grant Medical Center with minor injuries, while the third individual was evaluated at the scene but did not require hospitalization.

The incident occurred as strong storms moved through central Ohio, bringing winds of 50-60 mph.
