SOUTH CAROLINA — A man was injured Thursday afternoon after being struck by a car near the courthouse on Main Street, according to Darlington Police Chief Jimmy Davis.
Davis said the victim is believed to have suffered a head injury. His condition has not yet been released.
Police said the driver did not initially stop after the crash but was located a short distance away. The driver has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
According to Davis, the driver later told officers they did not realize what they had hit.
Additional details are expected to be released later Thursday afternoon, police said.
