OHIO — A 30-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after a hit-and-run Wednesday night in Brown County, authorities said.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred around 8:21 p.m. on State Route 286 near Upper Five Mile West Road in Sterling Township. Troopers found the victim on the roadside and determined they had been struck by an unidentified vehicle that fled the scene.

Investigators recovered a passenger-side mirror at the scene and believe the suspect vehicle may be a Chevrolet or GMC full-size pickup. The pedestrian was airlifted to UC Medical Center with serious injuries.

OSHP is continuing its investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Georgetown Post at (937) 378-6191.
