OHIO — A woman was seriously injured Tuesday morning after being hit by a car while crossing the street, according to a crash report from the Springfield Division of Police.
The collision happened just before 6:20 a.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and Burnett Road.
Police said a 36-year-old Springfield man was driving a Honda Civic eastbound on East Main Street when he struck a 60-year-old woman who was crossing southbound on North Burnett Road.
Medics first transported the woman to Springfield Regional Medical Center, but she was later flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital for further treatment. The driver of the Honda was not injured.
The report notes that the pedestrian was distracted by “other” or “unknown” factors at the time of the crash. No citations have been issued.
