LOUISIANA — A pedestrian was hospitalized Monday morning after being struck by a car in Denham Springs, authorities said.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. on La. 16 at Lockhart Road.
Westbound lanes of Magnolia Beach Road, which becomes Lockhart Road at the intersection, were closed following the incident.
Louisiana State Police said the pedestrian sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital. Deputies, state troopers, and firefighters responded to the scene.
