One person injured after being struck by vehicle in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — A 19-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in southern Louisville, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Officers responded around 7:40 p.m. to the area of Fern Valley Road and Shepherdsville Road, where the neighborhoods of Highview, Newburg, and Okolona meet, following a report of a pedestrian being hit.

When police arrived, they found the teen suffering from blunt force trauma.

He was transported to UofL Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition.

The driver involved remained at the scene and spoke with investigators. LMPD’s Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate, but no charges are expected at this time.
