KENTUCKY — A woman was hospitalized Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle while crossing a street in Glasgow, according to local police.

The Glasgow Police Department reported that officers responded to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash at the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Rodger Wells Boulevard.

Investigators determined that a 2011 Chevy Equinox driven by David Martin of Cave City was heading south on Rodger Wells Boulevard when it struck a pedestrian identified as Julie Vaughn, who was walking in a crosswalk. Police said Martin did not see Vaughn prior to the collision.

Vaughn was taken by EMS to T.J. Samson Hospital and later flown to Skyline Hospital for additional treatment.

Officer Quentin Phillips investigated the crash with assistance from Barren/Metcalfe EMS and the Glasgow Fire Department.
