One person injured after being shot in foot in Ohio

OHIO — Deputies are investigating a reported shooting that occurred early Friday morning in Harrison Township, according to local authorities.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 1:57 a.m. to the 2000 block of Palisades Drive after receiving reports of a shooting, a sergeant with the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch said. No victim was located at the scene at that time.

Authorities later learned that a man had arrived at Miami Valley Hospital North with a gunshot wound to his foot. Hospital staff notified the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, stating that the victim claimed he was injured during an attempted robbery in the 1900 block of Republic Drive.

According to a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, the victim, who was only identified as a male, did not wish to cooperate with the investigation. Deputies are continuing to investigate the incident and are reviewing video footage from the surrounding neighborhood in an effort to gather additional information.

No further details were immediately available, and the investigation remains ongoing.
