One person found frozen to death in Ohio home

OHIO — Police are investigating after a man was found frozen to death inside a condemned home amid freezing temperatures.

Officers responded to a residence at 725 Lincoln Avenue on January 21 after receiving a call about a deceased male, later identified as Daniel Cunningham.

According to a police report, a friend had come to check on Cunningham, who had been sick with pneumonia, and discovered him dead on the living room floor.

The house was in severe disrepair, with no heat, filthy conditions, and temperatures in the single digits.

Police were unable to determine how long Cunningham had been dead, but the caller stated they had last seen him four days earlier.

He was found wearing a coat, jeans, boots, and a hoodie. Officers also discovered a small rock of crack cocaine in a container near the body.

The dog was described as thin and was taken in by the local dog warden.

The case remains under investigation as Ohio and other states battle dangerously cold winter weather.
