SOUTH CAROLINA — A man is dead after being found with a gunshot wound near an apartment complex in Greenville County early Saturday morning, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at Boulder Creek Apartments, located at 300 Furman Hall Road.
Deputies responded after a 911 caller reported hearing a gunshot.
When deputies arrived, they found a man in the roadway who had been shot. The victim was identified by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office as 40-year-old Michael Maurice Freeman.
No arrests have been made, and authorities say no suspect is currently in custody.
However, investigators believe the incident was isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
