KENTUCKY — Kentucky State Police are investigating after a woman was found dead from a gunshot wound last week in the McDowell community of Floyd County.
According to KSP Pikeville Post, troopers received a call on October 23 about an unresponsive woman at a residence on E Back Street. When officers arrived, they found Jill Howell, 34, of Prestonsburg, deceased.
The initial investigation indicated that Howell suffered from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office.
Her body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.
