VIRGINIA — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead at a home in Ridgeway on Saturday.
Deputies responded around 12:15 p.m. to a welfare check at a residence on the 1100 block of Garrett Road. Upon arrival, a juvenile at the home told officers that his mother needed help. Deputies then discovered the woman deceased in a bedroom.
Authorities have launched a homicide investigation. The scene is being processed, and witnesses are being interviewed. The exact cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
No arrests have been made, but investigators are seeking to speak with Joseph Chad Lockett, a man who was recently in a relationship with the victim.
