MICHIGAN — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death after deputies discovered a man dead in a home Thursday morning.
Authorities responded around 8 a.m. to the 11000 block of Born Street for a welfare check. When deputies received no response at the door, they looked through a window and saw a man lying on the kitchen floor.
Deputies initially were unable to enter the home due to several dogs on the property. Cass County Animal Control was called to assist in safely removing the animals.
Once inside, deputies found an injured woman, who was transported to a hospital by ambulance. The man in the kitchen was pronounced dead at the scene.
