OHIO — An 18-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound inside a crashed vehicle early Saturday morning, according to Cleveland Police.
Police responded around 1:42 a.m. to reports of gunfire near East 30th Street and Euclid Avenue, said Public Information Officer Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz.
Around the same time, a separate call reported a vehicle crash into a utility pole at East 55th Street and Cedar Avenue.
Officers arriving at the crash scene found a car that had struck a pole. Inside the vehicle, they discovered the victim, who appeared to have been shot. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest the teen may have been involved in a verbal altercation with individuals in another car near East 30th and Euclid before shots were fired.
Two firearms were recovered from inside the crashed car.
The case is currently under investigation by the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit. No additional details have been released.
