SOUTH CAROLINA — A 43-year-old man was found dead in the parking lot of a Lowe’s store on Fort Mill Highway over the weekend.
Deputies with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Saturday, Aug. 2, where they discovered the man face down in front of his truck, bleeding and without a pulse.
Officials said the man’s body showed no signs of external injuries, and no weapons or evidence of a confrontation were found at the scene.
“Although the investigation is in its early stages, we have found nothing at this point to indicate that the man died by violent means or that this is a homicide,” Sheriff Barry Faile said in a news release.
An autopsy is scheduled for Aug. 6 to provide more information. Family members told investigators the man had a medical condition diagnosed last fall that had worsened, and he had been receiving treatment. Officials did not specify the condition.
The family said the man left home Saturday morning to run errands.
