
NORTH CAROLINA — Police have launched a death investigation in east Charlotte, authorities said Tuesday evening.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), officers responded to an incident along Central Avenue near Sheridan Drive around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials confirmed that homicide detectives are involved in the investigation. However, authorities have not yet released details about the circumstances surrounding the death.
The identity of the person involved and the cause of death have not been made public.
CMPD said the investigation is ongoing. Additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
