INDIANA — Police are investigating after a 19-year-old woman was found dead Thursday morning on the city’s south side.
Officers with the Richmond Police Department and medics from the Richmond Fire Department responded to a call shortly after 11 a.m. reporting an unconscious and unresponsive female on South 10th Street. When medics arrived, they confirmed the woman was deceased.
The victim has been identified as Caleigh Lindsay, 19.
Due to the circumstances observed at the scene, the department’s Investigative Services Division (ISD) was called in to assist with the case.
“Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of this young woman,” said Police Chief Kyle Weatherly. “We know the community has many questions, and we are committed to a thorough and transparent investigation.”
The Richmond Police Department says it will continue to work closely with local and state agencies as the investigation continues.
