NORTH CAROLINA — Two men are facing second-degree murder charges after deputies found a man dead inside a home, according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a call on NC-126 reporting a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased man and launched a homicide investigation.
Authorities identified the suspects as Chad Allen MacJarrett and Donaven James Purcell. Both were taken into custody without incident and are being held without bond.
MacJarrett and Purcell are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 25 at the Burke County Courthouse. The victim’s identity is being withheld, and the investigation remains ongoing.
